A Note from the Publisher:

We’re back for a new season, and I’m once again in absolute awe of this community! There are so many incredible things happening, with major collective efforts behind them. It is an honor to publish these efforts in our print edition, but if we can’t, we will do our best to support them digitally. Watch our social media pages as well as our website calendar to stay in the loop. Your support on the digital frontier is greatly appreciated. Like or follow those pages and share those stories y’all! Sometimes we even give away free tickets to fun stuff.

About the Joshuas: You may have heard that we’re throwing a little shindig called, “The Joshuas,” where we will celebrate this year’s nominations for folks contributing to the desert’s magic. It will be held October 16, 2022, at the Sanctuary in the Joshua Tree Retreat Center.

It delights me to announce that, in addition to our nominees, we will be honoring two inspiring women who have become an integral part of the desert fabric:

I hope you will join us in presenting Harriet Lefevre, co-founder of Pappy & Harriet’s, with an “Outstanding Legacy” honor. We’ll be honoring decades of hard work, from the kitchen to the stage, laying the foundation and planting the seeds for what is now known around the world as “Pappy & Harriet’s.”

Victoria Williams, renowned musician, and founder of Sweet Relief Musician’s Fund will be presented with a “Voice of Joshua Tree” honor. Victoria’s fascinating music career and distinguished voice have been woven into the Morongo Basin music scene for decades. Her “Sweet Relief Musician’s Fund” offers financial assistance to all types of career musicians and music industry workers who are struggling to make ends meet while facing physical or mental health issues, disability, or age-related problems.

The event will showcase a firey performance from Fire and Flight’s Vixen DeVille, and live music performances from Victoria Williams and freinds, Amritakripa and friends, Tumbleweed Time Machine, Shadow Mountain Band, Brad Byrd, Jesika Von Rabbit, Nigel Roman, Mikey Reyes and The Feeling, Q.varo, Joe Garcia, Teddy Quin, Karma Dealers, Daytime Moon, and more. We’ll be pulling out the proverbial red carpet and asking everyone to come dressed in their funky, formal, finest. Let’s give Bobby Furst and Drywall Dave a run for their money on the fashion front! Seating is limited, so if you plan to attend, make sure to get your tickets sooner than later. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
