Cowboys and Close Encounters with Award Winning Snake Jagger

Snake Jagger has been drawing and painting since he was six years of age. A self-taught artist, Jagger has developed his own unique style of portraying the desert landscape. His early influences include such masters as Leonardo Da Vinci, Thomas Hart Benton, and modern influences such as Peter Max, Noble “

“I refer to my style of painting as ‘whimsical surrealism,” Jagger will tell you. “I work with acrylic paint on canvases, but some of my images are produced using mixed mediums. My goal is to elicit smiles and good feelings from the viewer. “My message is we are the stewards of our planet, and we should take care of it. Thus, my manicured desert landscapes depict a clean, and well taken care of environment. Something we should all be thinking about.”

While his works depict manicured, pristine lines, and landscapes, there is always something added to the juxtaposition of the beautiful but potentially predictable or “normal” scene. This touch adds an even deeper sense of fantasy, stimulating the mind into developing its own narrative. His works beckon you to step into them and become part of its signature pallet of imaginative color.

His work has been widely exhibited throughout the U.S. and Europe, including shows in England, he has displayed his art in the Sausalito Art Festival, La Quinta Arts Festival, Indian Wells Art Festival, Catalina Festival of Art, the Glass Outhouse in Twentynine Palms, Images Gallery in Palm Springs, and various other art festivals around California, as well as the Hwy 62 Open Studio Art Tours in the Morongo Basin. In 2022, Jagger was nominated by his peers and voted by the public as 2022’s Outstanding Two-Dimensional Artist at The Joshuas Honors Gala.

Your adventure awaits with Jaggers work on display at Spaghetti Western in Morongo Valley through February 2024.
