20 YEARS OF MAGIC: The Fall Joshua Tree Music Festival

OCTOBER 5-9, 2025

By Lisa Lynn Morgan | Joshua Tree Voice

The 20th Annual Fall Joshua Tree Music Festival returns October 9–12, 2025, unfolding like a love letter to the desert. Here, music drifts through open skies, strangers become family, and every playshop and serendipitous encounter nourishes the mind, body, and soul. Beneath the Joshua Tree sky, the festival invites you to lose yourself in sound, rediscover community, and return home inspired.

This isn’t just a festival – it’s a family under the stars, where music becomes the language of connection and the desert is the stage for transformation.

A Lineup to Ignite the Desert

This year’s lineup is as vibrant as the desert itself, featuring artists who bring energy, innovation, and heart to the stage. Yak Attack sets the tone with a high-energy, improvisational groove that blends jam-band spontaneity with the pulse of electronica. Zar Electrik follows with a global fusion of African, Middle Eastern, and desert-rooted sounds that feel both ancient and futuristic.

Free Creatures weave hip-hop, funk, and folk into uplifting harmonies, while Psycodelics offer a kaleidoscope of psychedelic funk and boundary-pushing jams. The magnetic Madame Gandhi performs both Saturday and Sunday, delivering fearless percussion, vocals, and socially conscious anthems. Jembaa Groove, blending Ghanaian highlife with Berlin’s jazz-funk edge, pulses with horns, bass, and soul. Closing it all, Diggin Dirt unleashes a horn-driven funk explosion—an ecstatic finale that shakes the desert floor. And that’s just scratching the surface of the music and surprises offered.

Workshops Playshops That Feed the Soul

While music is the heartbeat, workshops are the festival’s soul. Each day begins with opportunities to awaken body and mind—sunrise yoga, movement classes, and meditation circles. Afternoons brim with creativity through drumming, storytelling, and painting sessions that encourage self-expression. These experiences aren’t just activities; they’re moments of transformation, sprinkled with spontaneous mindfulness and gratitude that ripple through the festival grounds.

Kidsville

A Gathering of Hearts & Hands

At the gateway to Joshua Tree National Park, the festival has become a tradition for families, friends, and seekers alike. Children flourish in Kidsville, a vibrant hub of play and creativity, while artists, vendors, and healers bring offerings that make the festival feel more like a village than an event. Sustainability anchors the gathering, with eco-conscious practices and a reverence for the desert’s fragile beauty woven into its fabric.
