MAS FESTIVAL CELEBRATING IRISH CULTURE
By Lisa Lynn Morgan
THIS SUNDAY at ARTTRAP in Joshua Tree, celebrate the Irish culture with local friends and local music.
The Hay Festival! team brings MAS FESTIVAL! expanding their 3 years of celebrating Mexican culture, with a St Patrick’s celebration of Irish Heritage. Co-sponsored as always by Joshua Tree Voice, come and enjoy samplings of Irish food, drink, song, dance, merriment and fellowship in a stunning setting.
The nationally touring band, California Celts, will be bringing their phenomenal high spirited music and energy to the event held at Joshua Tree’s Arttrap located at 61961 Sunburst Circle. Doors open at 4:00 pm with the California Celts kicking off at 5:30. BYO favorite Irish beverage. This is a free event. SLAINTE!!!

Hay Festival was inspired by a conversation three years ago: “You, or your parents move to this special place, and you love the open spaces, the creative energy, yet important things are also left behind. When it comes people of Mexican decent, born or raised in the U.S., especially younger kids, there can be a disconnect between their rich cultural heritage, with no way to understand it, or how it can fit in their lives and help develop their own possibilities. Imprints can’t just be negative portrayals when there is so much in Mexican cultural roots that can ignite a passion.” – Rolo Castillo

Following celebrations enjoyed by the community over the past three years that included music, dance, equestrian, and tamale making demonstrations in November, Hay Festival is looking forward to celebrating multiple cultures monthly throughout the year. Follow Joshua Tree Voice for more information as it develops.
