MATTHEW HALL

Cover photography, stage shots of Victoria Williams, and many of the background photos used in our monthly publications, have been provided by local photographer, Matthew Hall.

Matthew and his wife, Maria, were both born and raised in 29 Palms, grateful to have the Joshua Tree National Park in their backyard. Matthew has worked for the department of defense at the military base for almost 13 years, and Maria is a Lead Visitor Use Assistant for Joshua Tree National Park.

“I’ve always been inspired by film photography from the 60’s and 70’s with its warm grainy feeling. I always had a camera with me growing up, usually a point and shoot film camera. I like shooting all different genres of photography. If it’s interesting to me, I’ll take a shot at it. I’ve been very fortunate to have a rad venue like Pappy and Harriet’s nearby that I can bring my camera in and shoot a lot of great bands!””

Matthew’s love for the landscape, near and afar, for adventure, climbing, and music are evident in his work and one of the reasons our publication looks so good. Please visit his beautiful collection of photographic art, available for purchase on his website:  www.desertshit.net
