My Voice: Welcome to MY place of worship

Music is crazy man. It’s been my #1 focus for most of my life. And I’ll be honest, I’ve struggled with it. I’m always looking for the path of least resistance and yet, somehow, I think that has been causing more of a resistance. My experiences have been up and down. Sometimes everything goes as planned. Other times I feel like I’m not moving at all. But one thing has remained constant. It’s always there when I return. I used to expect something from music. Like it owed me something for everything I had done. But I was wrong. Music doesn’t owe us anything. It just is. Financial success, reverence, reputation, stardom, likes, plays, status, social media. All of these things are things we have simply attached to an otherwise eternal existence. We are music. I am music. And I don’t always understand it. And I don’t know that I want to fully understand it. I’m just glad that I get to have any kind of relationship with it at all. So in short, I want to say thank you. Thank you to life. For allowing me to live in a body capable of hearing and manipulating this strange and very spiritual concept.

And for those of you doubting or questioning… leave, take a break, and just know, that music loves you unconditionally as long as you can manage to love yourself unconditionally.
