The Joshua Tree No-Kill Shelter is noted for the caring and nurturing of abandoned animals that includes upfront medical care in advance of adoption and long-term sheltering until adopted. The Shelter officially became No-Kill in 2005.

The Joshua Tree No-Kill Shelter is operated by the Morongo Basin Humane Society.
