Poetry Corner: “Blue, My Mind” By Susan Abbott

Blue, My Mind

By: Susan Abbott

Blue, my mind
the color of clear sky
and of its nature to fly
Blue, my mind
in the watery deep
in a dream of peaceful sleep
Blue, my mind
to grapple with the sad
in prisons, with the mad
Blue, my mind
in all its shades I live
a love in its all conditional give
Blue, my mind
the darkest mystical night
how stars in indigo disperse their light
Blue, my mind
out under the bluest moon
the wisps of wind, the call of loon
Blue, my mind
to the body’s blood
the river runs yet does not flood
Because joy comes at the thought of you
because it is fine and bold and true
my mind always comes back to you.
